Let’s delve into the DATA and explore its many functions

With so much on offer you may be overwhelmed so here’s a few places to get started…

We can monitor a range of signals with the DATA from high-frequency audio right down to super long and slow LFOs. The screen gives us up to 60 seconds of time visualised. Start by taking a look at what your favourite modulation sources look like.

Creating polyphonic patches or layering paraphonic harmonies on analogue synths can be difficult as things drift sometimes and take time to warm up. With the tuner you can quickly flick between the input sources to tune up a chord tone which isn’t a common thing for Eurorack.

03 >

Using an external clock we’re going to use the DATA to give us two extra rhythms to give us a three-part beat. Use the offset control to shift your clock outputs onto various swing and more human-like patterns. It makes custom grooves easy!

04 >

Let’s create a duophonic stereo patch with the DATA as our oscillators and VCAs. We’ll need two 1v/oct sequences to control our two oscillators and we’ll use two envelopes to control their amplitude. Pan these hard left and right for a wide stereo image.

05 >

We can also use the dual waveform generators for slow LFOs as well as audio rate waveforms. To create more complex modulation try using the second waveform generator as a modulator and use the built-in attenuator to scale the modulation of your first LFO.

06 >

To globally change the notes within a region, Select All before adjusting the parameters of your choice – these offsets will affect other notes beyond the one you’ve selected. Hold down Ctrl before clicking a note and choose Set To Perfect Pitch to centralise the middle of each note’s pitch correctly.
