Pattern Creation And Manipulation

-

Abstract Data firmly placed themselves on the map with the quick and simple clocking, pattern generation, tempo synced (or not) modulation of the ADE-32 Octocontroller. The ADE-33 Event Boss is the Octocontroller’s most trusted partner in crime – if the crime is quick, fun, interactive and CV controllable rhythm generation that is. The Event Boss works on the idea of ‘events’ – things you plug into the inputs such as gates, clocks, triggers, square wave LFOs etc. One key point is that the Event Boss doesn’t sync to the signals you put in, it simply reads and manipulates them. Steady clocks can become patterns, triggers can become longer gates, phases can be shifted, logic functions performed over two inputs and already rhythmic patterns further manipulated and varied. It’s a hub of rhythmic inspiration, like a band member that never shows up hungover. Simple, repeatable, infinitely useful across its six global modes, no matter how many voltages you throw at the inputs it stays musical. Operation is simple, with only minimal button holding to enter a one-tier menu system. For example, you hold both A1/A2 select and mode select to choose any of the six functions (Variables, Multiples, Probability, Logic, Phase and Gates). Press this again to return to normal activity and select one of six local modes, which change the behaviour further. Importantly, you don’t need to understand what’s going on under the hood. Simply choose a mode, plug some signals in and start making new rhythms.
