HEDD Type 20
A new venture from ex-Adam Audio MD Klaus Heinz and his son Dr Frederik Knop, HEDD monitors have quickly generated a well-deserved buzz. We were really impressed with the Type 20s when we reviewed them – so much so that our reviewer immediately ordered a pair.
Erica Synths Acidbox 3
Latvia’s Erica Synths have caught our eye in recent years with Eurorack modules and studio effects. The Acidbox, an emulation of the filter section of the classic Soviet Polivoks synth, is a highlight of their range. Version 3 adds a stereo signal path and gorgeous overdrive.
AKG C636
AKG’s handheld condenser mic might look plain, but there’s a lot going on under the mesh, resulting in clear, well-balanced response and excellent off-axis attenuation. Handheld mics may not be as sexy as their ribbon counterparts, but the C636 is uncommonly impressive.
Adam Audio T Series
Incorporating many of the features of Adam’s flagship S-Series, the T-Series can boast a lot of power and quality for a budget-friendly monitor. There’s plenty of power on offer, and solid stereo imaging, all contained within a conveniently modest package.
Steinberg UR-RT interfaces
For the latest in their UR range, Steinberg have teamed up with Rupert Neve to bring something new to the interface market. The RT range couple Steinberg’s excellent preamps with a switchable transformer from RND. Transparent recording and harmonic richness in one.
