Adding more dirt and texture

-

The two-pole Prologue-design filter (with self-oscillating resonance) is super-useful for adding extra character, especially as more highs leak through compared to a four-pole filter when cutoff is moved down (due to the shallower slope). Set the filter resonance to 3/4 full and then sweep the Filter Cutoff – you can hear just how many different sweet spots/textures the filter has. Moving Cutoff to around the halfway point (with resonance also set to around half), you get almost MS20-style throaty distortion, yet set resonance to max and move the cutoff and you get liquidy screaming! Things get altogether earthier and bolder once you employ the two-position Filter Drive switch for even more fibrous flavours. This switch is key to adding more body, vibe and texture, though remember that the overall output level will jump up significantly (particularly when using drive position 2). Don’t forget you can also use the audio rate-capable LFO at high speeds to add even more grain, or the noise oscillators in the Multi-Engine.
