How to… thicken your sounds

When using the VCOs there are a number of ways to thicken things up for a fatter tone. Firstly, choose your waves carefully. A saw and a square will usually sound fatter than two saws (for example). Once you have your waves selected, you can use either oscillator’s pitch control to dial in some detuning to add further harmonic beating and movement. Or, you can use one of the VPM waves in the Multi-Engine to add a sine, square or saw under the VCOs to thicken your sound too. Other options include using the duo or unison modes (with detune) and tweaking the shape control on each oscillator too.
