User effects/oscs for Prologue

It’s not clear how to load these in?

-

One of the most intriguing features on Korg’s flagship Prologue is the ability to load in custom user oscillators and effects, but it’s not immediately apparent how to do this, or where to find effects. However, again, there are already some great free user effects out there and Len’s free effects (found at github.com/len/korg-prologue/tree/master/builds) work great. His first effect forays include Split (to send layers to separate outs) plus ring mod, amp mod, tremolo, autopan and pluck/organ oscillators. Other third parties making paid-for content include DirtboxSynth (dirtboxsynth.com), Eduoard Digital (edouard. digital) and SineVibes (sinevibes.com). Here’s how to install them…

?? ?? Firstly, ensure your Prologue is updated to the latest firmware (found here: bit.ly/ Prologue_firmware) and be sure to do the voice update too. Then download/install the Prologue Librarian for Mac or Windows; this is required to transfer custom user content.

?? ?? Hit ‘send all’ to send user oscs/effects to your Prologue. Now you can select the custom osc in the multi-engine or use either effect flick-switch to select USER, then use the edit menu to go to the User-FX type and scroll through your new custom effects.

?? ?? Once updated and the librarian installed in your DAW, go to the required developers website and purchase/download the content to install in your Prologue. Note that there are 16 user slots in the Prologue for custom oscillators and eight slots each for mod and reverb/delay.

?? ?? Load the Prologue librarian. You’ll see tabs across the top for user oscillators and for mod and reverb/delay user effect slots. Grab the downloaded oscillator/effect file you want to dump into your Prologue (ending .prlgunit) and drop into any free slot of your choice.
