Built-in synth effects: any good?

We’ve always loved having everything self-contained with effects optimised for that particular sound engine. Even ‘bad’ sounding effects can have character; the effects in the Alesis A6 and Yamaha SY77, say, are often criticised but with tweaking they can sound great. As for current synths, the Korg Prologue has wonderful reverbs and the DeepMind 12 also has greatsounding modulateable effects. If you want BBD analogue effects, then the Matrixbrute is king!
