Staying On Track

- Si Truss, Editor simon.truss@futurenet.com

This issue of Future Music hasn’t been particularly easy to put together. It’s only when you’re told to stay at home that you suddenly realise how much of what you do involves going out and spending time around other people – from filming with artists and producers in their studios to coordinating gear photoshoots or simply working together in an office as a team.

Admittedly, it’s not like we’re on a par with the incredible people working in medical, care and essential services right now, but it’s still taken some hard work. I’d like to thank the writers, artists, photographers, PR teams and FM’s own staff members who’ve put in a lot of work to make things happen remotely this issue – often at very short notice!

Fortunately, we have a genuinely exciting and innovative piece of kit to lead this issue, Polyend’s retro-inspired hardware sampler, Tracker. In this month’s cover feature, we explore some of the history behind its design and look at how it can inspire a little creative sequencing.
