John Haddad Divine Kit

This free kit follows GM keymap (despite some missing keys), offers a good, simple choice of drums and cymbals (even a china cymbal in there), and does basic hi-hat choking as well. This is another kit with multiple output audio channels, which you’ll have to switch on before you can actually get a sound out. There’s volume control over individual kit elements, and the samples themselves are OK, if a bit dry. Sadly, the onboard reverb is pretty awful, but given the number of reverbs available elsewhere, that’s hardly a problem. A decent kit for generating ideas and whipping up beats, but not the best in this list. vst4free.com
