MT-PowerDrumKit 2

-

Finally, MT-PowerDrumKit 2 is mapped to the standard MIDI keymap, is remappable in the settings, and defaults to a standard stereo output. Its drum sounds feature all the usual staples (plus china and splash cymbals), and the interface is nicely clickable to get your bearings. The samples themselves sound top-notch, and there’s a lot you can do with them…

Over in the Mixer page, you’ve got panning, level and compression, and the ability to mute and group similar tracks. Here you can also choose to output different channels to different outputs in your DAW, making it a choice rather than an imposition.

In the Grooves page, you’ll find folders of MIDI files to play and audition, and even a quick ‘Composer’ bar to hold a bunch of variations before dragging the whole ‘drum track’ into your DAW as a MIDI part. The programmed beats can be altered in their velocities and are split into categories by speed and time signature. MT-PowerDrumKit 2 is great – and well worth the suggested donation if you do go ahead with using it. powerdrumkit.com VERDICT 9.4
