“Get a crappy speaker or radio speaker to check mixes on if you’re mixing stuff yourself. Immediately flags up anything that’s off or uneven, especially vocals.”

Listen to everything

“Listen to a lot of music; it’s one of the best ways to get inspired, have ideas and learn stuff. Try and get into the habit – you can learn so much by listening.”
