The brilliantly uncompromising debut album from leftfield bass producer, Little Snake, real name Gino Serpentini. The Canadian producer has been deconstructing dancefloor norms and subverting traditional structures since he first arrived on the scene in 2017. Having caught the attention of Flying Lotus, Little Snake was signed up to Brainfeeder, where he duly served up three impressive and dynamic EPs. Now returning to the much-loved imprint for his debut album, Little Snake delivers a wild, untamed and utterly distinctive soundscape that defies convention. Highly experimental and forward thinking, the record is sprawling, and unpredictable. Its structures are made up of glitchy, mangled sound design that distorts reality. The bass, drums, breaks and synth work are frenzied and wild, but there is still a sense of ethereal beauty that drifts throughout the centre of the record, creating an almost mystic atmosphere throughout. This is a wonderfully bold debut that announces a new, important voice in bass culture.
