Each pad gives you a few controls to change how its sample is played back. Basic controls include Gain and Pan; basic envelope Shape and Curve controls to quickly affect the onset or offset qualities of a sound; high- and low-pass filtering with Resonance; Pitch and Tuning. Here we’re changing the properties of the open hi-hat to get it closer to our closed one. We pitch up the open hat, increase its Gain, and give it shaping using the envelope Shape control.
