In the Advanced parameter editor, we get more control over the envelope timings, and Variation features to treat the sample differently every time that it plays. These Variable parameters include the sample delay Time, the Pitch fine-tuning, Velocity randomness, plus Filtering and Panning variation. You can also set the editor to keep things at a Fixed Velocity, and choose One-Shot or Gate modes, as per the usual sampler etiquette. Here we’re tweaking the envelope of the snare to make it die off a little faster.
