Animoog Z allows you to play chromatically, but the design of the on-screen keyboard isn’t standard. We’d suggest choosing your root note (top right of the panel) and then click the drop-down (top left) to choose from one of many scales preloaded into the instrument. This makes the keyboard make more sense and if you do skip a note by accident at least it will be in key. This is more important for playing on the screen but can work well for those using a keyboard or something like a launchpad. A note on which, if you use a grid-based controller and a host app, the scale shown on your controller will take its scale display from the host, and not from Animoog Z.
