Stereo Delay with Desert Shores >

-

The first algorithm we encounter is Desert Shores, a traditional stereo delay with a left and right delay signal that can be set to either a time based, or beat sync setting, and each delay can work independently from the other. With this algorithm we can let the delay bounce after the sound at a set time on each delay, or we can use the LFO or envelope to make delay time automated, affecting the pitch in a dub reggae way. We can further sculpt the sound with the Saturator, EQ and Stereo Spread.

Reverse buildup with Mecca >

The Mecca algorithm takes the input signal and reverses the sound as it passes through the delay signal, creating an effect that bounces off the source sound. If we take an arpeggiated melody and dial up the mix amount of the delay as it goes on, we can create a building effect where the sound begins to repeat and play off itself with the reversed signal. If we combine this with the Diffuser section, we can make an even wider sound.

Creating tones and texture with Cactus >

Cactus is a dual delay algorithm where each delay acts like a tape emulation. We can adjust the speed of each delay, as well as the pitch that the delay feedback is quantised to – settings for this include Free, Semitone, Fifth and Octave, as well as a re-speed option. By changing the speed and pitch settings of the delay we can create new textures from the sounds, or we can add almost granular tonal qualities.
