STEINBERG CUBASE

> Cubase began its life as a MIDI-only sequencer over 32 years ago and was the first of its kind to introduce graphical editing (with a mouse) of events and parts into the realm of music creation. Over the course of this time, it has slowly evolved into a fully-featured DAW – with its creators, Steinberg, taking a leading role in helping define exactly what a true digital audio workstation should look like in modern times (including originating the now wellestablished VST plugin specification).

Cubase 11’s arrival in 2020 introduced a more advanced Audio Export system, updated Sampler Track, new plugins like Squasher (multi-band dynamics) and SuperVision (audio analyser), as well as a whole host of other tweaks and additions.

At the time of writing v12 is on the horizon, bringing simplified licensing and workflow improvements.
