Novation enhance the Bass Station II
Over the past few years, Novation have proven themselves particularly committed to offering long-term development of their products, adding multiple new features to their Circuit synths via firmware updates. Now it’s the turn of Bass Station II owners to get some love.
In a new v2.5 firmware update, Novation have dropped a number of new features for the analogue synth. These include a paraphonic mode, which allows two notes to be played at once using the synth’s two oscillators. There’s also a new filter tracking mode, and envelope re-triggering.
At the more creative end of the spectrum, the update also introduces a microtuning function, allowing for some more leftfield melodic experimentation. There’s also a new Oscillator Error feature, which can introduce vintage-style tuning unpredictability. Users can grab the update free via Novation’s Components system.
