News From Wisemans Ferry Community Men’s Shed

-

A new year begins and with it a busy time for the Men’s Shed. We have all had a wellearned break and are back ready to tackle another exciting year. Hopefully we will be in our very own shed before the end of it and we can’t wait.

Our members are already busy sawing, sanding and turning timbers into items ready for sale at the various market stalls throughout the year. The first of these will be in the grounds of Wisemans Ferry Bowling Club on Saturday 26 March (Easter Saturday). We have a good idea of what people like to buy now and we are always trying new ideas so make sure you come on down to the Wisemans Ferry Market and check out what’s new at the Men’s Shed stall. It is always a good day with plenty of temptations to buy and a great variety of food stalls too. There is something for everyone.

This year we will also be turning our hand at running a few BBQ’s at Bunnings to help raise some much needed funding to get this shed happening. It is certainly going to be a busy one.

Behind the scenes we will are back tackling the legalities of running the shed, negotiating with council to finalise the plans for the shed and working towards getting the first plod of soil turned. Meanwhile we will also continue to produce our newsletter and our articles in the local papers, keeping you all informed of our progress and seeking your ongoing support.

Remember, the Men’s Shed operates each Tuesday 9.30am – 3.30pm at 2811 River Road, Wisemans Ferry. You can contact us by phone 0448833781 (Adrian) or email wfcms2775@gmail.com. We always welcome new members so we hope to see you there.
