Middle Dural Public School Notes

Galston, Glenorie and Hills Rural News - - My Council - Ian McArthur School Captain Rachael

2016 will be a huge year for Middle Dural Public School as we celebrate our 125th birthday.

The two main events have now been settled on. There will be a Colonial Theme Day in March, close to the actual birthday and a birthday party at the school in September.

The Colonial Theme Day will be a fun day for the children and teachers with dressing up in period costume, music, dancing, food and games all more in keeping with the late 1800s than now. This day will not be a public event, but one or more other schools might be invited to attend.

The birthday party will be a big event, including a reunion for past students, cake cutting, a small number of stalls and lots of souvineers. Souvineers will include 125 year jerseys and a 125 year book in electronic form.

We will keep you up to date with exact details closer to the event, but the best way to find out is to look at the Facebook page “MDPS: The First 125 Years”.

The new School Captains, Rachael and Cameron have started the year with a Leadership Camp at Vision Valley. The weather restricted many of the outdoor activities, but there was still plenty to do. The Public Speaking workshop made a particular impact on our leaders.
