Galston Goes National
You may all of heard that the Australian Swimming Championships have just been held in Adelaide, and our Australian Olympic swimming team was picked from the victors. What you may not have known (but do now), was that in the fortnight before that, the Australian Swimming Age Championships were held at the same venue.
Stacy Harding, Galston’s champion Head Coach, got three young athletes to qualify for this prestigious event, all for the first time.
Sam Loria, Jack Charlton and Jarrod Dearden all spent an amazing week in Adelaide with their coach and families, dipping their toes into this elite atmosphere for the first time. All three boys swam PB’s in their various events, and all 3 boys finished in the top 25 of all Australia.
The boys and their families would like to thank the Galston swim club members for their well wishes, fund raising and uniforms. Next year, the event will be held in Brisbane and we are certain to have many more swimmers, led by these (now) veterans of the sport. Go Galston!!!
