The Hills Grammar School

Although quite young, Hills Grammar is fortunate to have a part time archivist who curates a collection for display in the School Museum; the lounge room of the Jackson home still remaining from the original purchase of 22 acres in 1981. Year One students found their ‘excursion’ to the Museum a valuable one as they discover how ‘ We Explore Histories Through Stories’ – the central theme of their current International Baccalaureate PYP area of enquiry. The children were asked to take five photos with their ipads, of things that had changed; buildings, uniforms, classrooms and people. “The students absolutely loved it!” remarked Year One teacher Lauren Anthony, “They found the girls old hats itchy and didn’t recognise the Commodore from 1983 as a computer. Another favourite activity was recognising teachers who were once students. ”
