As this goes to print our Com­mu­nity En­gage­ment co­or­di­na­tor James Wick­ing is on his hon­ey­moon with his beau­ti­ful bride Kath­leen. We would like to take this op­por­tu­nity to con­grat­u­late James and Kath­leen and wish them all the very best for their fu­ture to­gether.

The team will at­tend Glenorie Mar­kets and are still avail­able to an­swer your fire re­lated ques­tions and as­sist you with prop­erty pro­tec­tion while James is on leave.

End of the Fire Sea­son

The end of March is the of­fi­cial end the Bush Fire sea­son. You are no longer re­quired to ap­ply for a per­mit to light fires how­ever reg­u­la­tions still ap­ply, so be­fore you light a fire please con­tact your lo­cal District Of­fice to con­firm reg­u­la­tions and give no­ti­fi­ca­tion of in­ten­tion to burn. NB: you are re­quired to give no­tice of in­ten­sion to burn.

Fuel Man­age­ment Burns

Au­tumn is the time brigades plan to do Fuel Man­age­ment burns. If your prop­erty backs onto a pro­posed burn you may no­tice brigade mem­bers in the bush pre­par­ing for the burn (mem­bers will al­ways be in fire brigade uni­form if on your prop­erty for this pur­pose). Stop by the brigade stand at Glenorie Mar­kets to check on the progress of pro­posed burns.
