St Benedict’s has moved into the modern world with the use of PowerPoint presentations on screens in the church that carry the words of the service for that day. The document for this program has been created by parishioner Josephine Cali from Galston. Josephine spent many hours entering the words and information that are required for each Mass and parishioners have certainly found the digitised service easy to follow.

Now Josephine is seeking some assistance in running the program during Mass so that the job can be shared. Josephine has offered to help with training and it’s hoped that a number of parishioners will put their names onto the roster. The parish supplies the laptop and Josephine has prepared an instruction sheet to make it easy.

Book Donations

Last month we wrote about the parish collection of clothes and goods for the seamen that arrive on Sydney’s docks. Parishioner Cathy Holling has been organising these donations to support the work of Sister Mary Leahy. Cathy is also supporting another worthy cause by collecting and delivering books for prisoners in NSW prisons. Books can be left near the kitchen in the parish centre where Cathy can pick them up. Fiction and lifestyle titles are preferred, says Cathy, and no hardcovers or textbooks please. Thanks Cathy!

Save the Date

The celebration of Father Alberic’s 60th anniversary of his ordination as a priest will be held in the parish on Sunday 11 July after the 10:30am Mass. This will be followed by barbecue and cake. All are welcome to join in congratulating Father Alberic who has served the parish over many years.
