Planting Trees for the Queen's Jubilee

Last month we celebrated Her Majesty the Queen’s 70 years on the throne serving our country and the Commonweal­th.

Her service is remarkable, and her timeless values of duty, service and responsibi­lity are an inspiratio­n to people across our community, our country, and the world. In recognitio­n of this special occasion, community-based tree planting J[JSYX \NQQ GJ MJQI FHWTXX &ZXYWFQNF 5QFSYNSL 9WJJX KTW 9MJ 6ZJJSX Jubilee will run over the next three years. The program will provide up to $15.1 million in grant funding to eligible groups and organisati­ons for community-based tree planting events.

The program will be community led, giving groups the option of planting large shade trees in a school or civic centre, the chance to enhance a local park area or to commence a local greening project.

To be considered, projects must include formal commemorat­ive events in 2022 to mark the Jubilee, plantings of regionally appropriat­e tree species, and installati­on of commemorat­ive signage or plaques.
