NEW PARISH PRIEST

We are happy to welcome our new parish priest to Arcadia. Father Shansana Samarasinghe (pictured) has been hoping to come to Australia from his Sri Lankan home since the middle of last year but his trip was delayed due to COVID restrictions.

At last we were able to welcome him in February and we are delighted to embark on this new chapter in our parish life. Father Shansana belongs to the Benedictine order of monks so he is looking forward to joining our local St Benedict’s Monastery at Arcadia. He is a much-experienced administrator, having XJW[JI FX YMJ ܪWXY ;NHJ 7JHYTW FSI 7JLNXYWFW FY the respected St Benedict’s College in Kandy. He clearly set the college off on the right foot GJHFZXJ NY MFX LWT\S WFUNIQ^ XNSHJ NY ܪWXY opened in 2007.

Friday 4 March CATECHISTS RETURN

The catechists who teach in our local schools have returned to the classrooms for 2022. We are ever grateful to these generous parishioners who give up their time to take God’s word to the children. Father Hilarion met with the catechists at the beginning of the year to give them their workbooks, together with his blessing. Special thanks to Miriam Brown who continues to volunteer as Catechist Co-ordinator.
