water your wildlife, too!
Insects, birds and wild furry things need more fluids as the temperatures rise, especially when it’s dry, so put out some fresh water for your garden visitors. All that’s needed is a shallow bowl or birdbath in a protected part of the garden. Or consider installing a small pond with a few rocks placed in the water and around the edges to provide easy access for birds, butterflies and reptiles. Provide shelter by growing plants near the edges as well. Ornamental grasses, including species of Lomandra, Poa, Carex and Gahnia, make good choices.
