It’s that time of year again – the advent of true summer (as well as Christmas) and a month when many of us are enjoying, or at least dreaming of, warm, lazy days in our little pocket of green. Shade is definitely the place to be, and as you reposition your chairs and stake out your spot for the summer, you need something beautiful to look at.
This potted arrangement heroes several plants loved for their foliage, with a couple of pops of floral colour. We planted ours in a white pot, 44cm wide and 45cm high. The white provides a lovely fresh foil for all the purples and greens.
For best results, fill your container with premium potting mix – you’ll need about three 25L bags for a pot of this size. We planted our pot with 140mm plants for an instant result, but you will save money by using smaller plants, and watching them grow to fill out the container.
