Kings Park Volunteer Guides
Free guided walks in Kings Park are available every day except Christmas Day. Tours depart daily from Fraser Avenue, outside Aspects of Kings Park. Highlights include a 1.5-hour tour leaving at 10am and 1pm daily and the longer Heart of Kings Park tour from July to October.
WA Museum Boola Bardip
This new museum in the Perth Cultural Centre shares stories through collections, research and perspectives of communities from across the state, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It’s open 9am to 5pm daily, except Christmas Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day. Entry is free and it’s best to book to avoid wait times. museum.wa.gov.au/boolabardip
Araluen Botanic Park
Situated in the Perth Hills, about a 45-minute drive from Perth’s CBD, Araluen is a 14ha exotic garden set within a huge area of bushland. It’s renowned for its spring tulip festival but is beautiful year-round. It has the largest display of heritage roses in the state as well as an internationally recognised camellia collection. The Park opens at 9am daily. Closing times and entry fees are seasonal. araluenbotanicpark.com.au
