PRUNE TO MAINTAIN SHAPE
Large shrub grevilleas lose their shape over time, and develop a lot of dead wood, making them look shabby. Annual pruning keeps their canopy contained and nicely formed, and generates lots of lovely fresh growth. The best time to prune is soon after their peak flowering, normally mid-spring. Cut them back by at least half. They will quickly bounce back with new shoots. Follow up each year, cutting the previous year’s growth back to a few buds at the base.
