LET’S EAT WEEDS!
Annie Raser-Rowland and Adam Grubb, with illustrations by Evie Barrow Scribble
Most of the time, weeds are thought of as pesky plants that need to be pulled out and thrown away, but many weeds are edible and delicious. Created by the duo who wrote The Weed Forager’s Handbook a few years ago, this funny, attractively illustrated book is designed to teach kids, urban and rural, how to carefully identify weeds and make sure they’re safe to eat. It shows some of the well-known edible varieties (and some trickier ones), with instructions on how to find, pick and prepare them for eating. There are recipes (weeds ’n’ cheese pie, anyone?), a quiz, scientific information, and comforting notes for worried adults.
