POT PLANTS

-

Give your forlorn and summer-damaged pot plants some TLC to get them back into good shape. Trim off any dead shoots or foliage. Any pot plants that have dried out on hot days should be left to soak in a bucket of water until the last of the bubbles has emerged from the mix. If the mix is full of roots, trim the roots and transplant into a larger pot with some fresh mix. Check the location of the pot and, if necessary, move it into a more shaded position for the remainder of summer. Water in a soil wetter over the mix before fertilising with slow-release pellets and spreading a layer of organic mulch on top. Apply seaweed solution regularly, which will encourage steady growth and resistance to heat.
