CARING FOR CUT ROSES

Lorna’s tips for getting the most from roses in a vase

Pick them early in the morning or late at night

Don’t pick them on days when the weather is hot

Choose blooms that haven’t quite opened yet

De-thorn them and put them straight into water

Re-cut the stems when you arrange them and each time you change the water

Change the water in the vase every couple of days

If you want to float your roses in a bowl of water, cut the stem right under the base of the blooms
