Men’s health emergency
Gatton’s ambos, hospital staff and firies growamo
MOVEMBER is almost here and soon Mos of all shapes and sizes will take up residence on the faces of our emergency services.
So far, the Mo team is made up of members of the Gatton Ambulance, Gatton Hospital and the Rural Fire Service.
Team captain and advanced care paramedic Cameron Anderson said they were calling on any other members of the emergency services to join – especially some police officers – to round up the team.
“Movember is one of those causes that I have always supported but never actually participated in,” he said.
“We have dedicated our careers to helping the community and this is a slightly different way we can work together to do the same thing.
“We feel that as an emergency services family, we can make a difference that reaches a community broader than that of Gatton alone.”
He said it was also an opportunity to develop closer bonds within the emergency services family.
“Who knows who will need the help later on,” he said.
Movember raises money for men’s mental health, as well as prostate and testicular cancer awareness. You can donate or join the team by visiting http://moteam.co/gatton -emergency-services or drop a few coins in one of the donation tins around town.
MO BROS: The emergency services Movember team includes Mark Luther, David Mason, Cameron Anderson, Tony Clark, Kurtis Luther, Donni Luther and Dan O’Brien.
