Kindy still strong after four decades
THE Laidley C&K Kindergarten is celebrating 40 years of providing a high-quality early childhood program to the children of Laidley and surrounding areas.
On Saturday, December 7, it is opening its time capsule, which was buried in the kindy’s Birthday Garden in 2003.
Hopefully it has survived the floods of 2011 and 2013, which inundated the kindy grounds and building.
The kindy building, a 130-year-old former Presbyterian church, has now been restored to better than its former glory by local builder Graham Bichel and his dedicated team of workers.
The time capsule contains photo albums of the children celebrating their birthday in 2003, some memorabilia and toys put in by the children.
A new time capsule with the thoughts of the 2013 children on “when I grow up I want to be...” and messages from the 2003 cohort will be buried until 2023.
The kindy is looking to contact the children and families from the class of 2003 so they can join with the class of 2013 for a morning of kindy fun to celebrate this milestone.
If you are a past family of the kindy, you will remember the “name pavers” in the kindy path.
If you would like to purchase a paver and add your name, please phone the kindy on 5465 1723 or email direc[email protected]dleykindergarten .com.au.
40 NOT OUT: Laidley C&K Kindergarten has provided 40 years of high-quality early childhood programs.
