Rais­ing aware­ness on men­tal health

FREE food and hot drinks hit the ta­bles in an ef­fort to raise aware­ness on men­tal health is­sues within the Lock­yer Val­ley.

As part of Men­tal Health Week, the Lock­yer Com­mu­nity Cen­tre hosted a spe­cial morn­ing tea last Thurs­day.

A num­ber of or­gan­i­sa­tions were rep­re­sented on the day in­clud­ing Black Dog, ARASMI, Headspace, Kambu and be­yond­blue.

Anne James from the Lock­yer Com­mu­nity Cen­tre said it was the first time the morn­ing tea and in­for­ma­tion ses­sion had been held at the cen­tre.

The event was not just for those suf­fer­ing from a men­tal ill­ness but car­ers too, with plenty of in­for­ma­tion on of­fer.
