Be Town Proud, support locals
ASKING if someone is “Town Proud” may sound like a strange question, but when you think about what it means, it is an important question to ask.
It goes beyond mowing the nature strip, or even picking up a piece of litter in the street. It is being proud of where you come from.
Town Proud means supporting those people who support the town, from the sole trader through to the bigger businesses.
These are the businesses that support our community, they are the ones we turn to when we need a prize for a raffle, or a donation to help the school send students on an excursion.
Even more importantly, these are the businesses we look to when it is time for our kids to get their first job, where they will work while they are studying, or the business that will give them the first step up on the ladder of life when they start full-time work.
These are the businesses that employ our friends and neighbours. In short, these are the businesses that are the backbone of our district.
These are also the businesses who will pick up something from us at home as they drive past in the morning, or they will drop it off after they lock up at night, because they know how important it is, and it isn’t that far out of their way, even though it is late.
But they can’t do it alone, they need help as well, and we are the ones who can give it to them, by shopping with them, and keeping our money in the region.
The Gatton, Lockyer and Brisbane Valley Star is giving the whole community the chance to show how Town Proud they are, by shopping locally, and supporting those businesses that show they are Town Proud.
So when you go into a local business, and see the Town Proud logo in the window, be proud to know you are supporting a local business, be proud to know that you are Town Proud.
BE TOWN PROUD: Local businesses are the backbone of our district.
Be on the look out for this logo. It is going to be seen in businesses all around the district, because they are showing they are Town Proud.
