Swing­ing for a good cause

More than 40 golfers hit the greens of the Lai­d­ley Golf Club for a good cause on Sun­day.

The Ro­tary Club of Lock­yer Val­ley held their an­nual golf which helped to fundraise for drought re­lief.

Ro­tary Club of Lock­yer Val­ley pres­i­dent John Schol­lick said it was the third time the golf day had been held.

“It’s good be­cause it gets the mem­bers and all the their friends and other peo­ple in­volved and its all for a good cause,” Mr Schol­lick said.

The Gat­ton Guides ran the bar­be­cue on the day for play­ers too.

Aside from a good day of golf, a num­ber of fun com­pe­ti­tions were also held.

The win­ners: Daniel Hauser and Jodie Ed­wards, sec­ond prize: An­thony and Kaye Sip­ple, third prize: Terry Kirk­wood and golf part­ner.
