High range speeding
POLICE have charged a man after he was spotted riding his motorcycle at an extremely high speed in Ipswich on Saturday morning.
At about 12.15am, Police Air 2 tracked the motorcycle allegedly travelling westbound at 222 kilometres per hour in a 100kmh zone on the Ipswich Motorway.
Soon after, officers caught up with the rider on the Centenary Hwy, around one kilometre south of the LegacyWay tunnel.
A 22-year-old Morayfield man was issued with a traffic infringement notice for his high-range speeding.
He has been fined $1099 for the offence.
Police warn motorists to obey all speed limits to ensure road safety.
