Gar­den­ers urged to show off their work

EN­TRIES are be­ing en­cour­aged for the sec­ond an­nual Som­er­set Gar­den Com­pe­ti­tion.

Som­er­set Re­gional Coun­cil has part­nered with Sear­les, the lead­ing mar­ket in­no­va­tor in the home gar­den in­dus­try, to de­liver the gar­den com­pe­ti­tion.

The com­pe­ti­tion is about en­cour­ag­ing all Som­er­set en­thu­si­asts to en­ter their gar­dens in an open gar­den dis­play and as­so­ci­ated com­pe­ti­tion from now un­til Fri­day, Au­gust 10.

There will be three ma­jor com­pe­ti­tion cat­e­gories – Best Ru­ral Gar­den, Best Ur­ban Gar­den and Best Busi­ness/com­mu­nity Group.

The win­ners of each cat­e­gory will re­ceive a $500 cash prize and a sig­na­ture prize pack from Sear­les val­ued at $100.

As an added bonus, all en­trants in the com­pe­ti­tion will re­ceive a Sear­les Gar­den Prod­uct Prize Pack.

There will be an en­cour­age­ment award (run­ner up) prize awarded in each of the three ma­jor cat­e­gories com­pris­ing of a $250 cash prize
