Talk not adding up

Gatton Star - - NEWS OPINION -

PRIME Minister Malcolm Turnbull said recently, “there’s never been a more exciting time to be in politics”.

I wonder what the 700 former employees of Toys R Us are saying and 8000 Telstra employees are thinking as they look for new jobs. Toyota, Ford and Holden employees have also been thrown on the scrap heap.

According to the PM, more jobs are coming as a result of the free trade agreement with the European Union.

After past trade agreements we heard that too. But with the job loses something doesn’t ring true.

Maybe we’ll all be saved under the Liberal, National, One Nation coalition. In the meantime we’re expected to work until 70. Where are all these jobs? Can people get a mortgage unless employed full time? The foundations are crumbling!
