A TO­TAL of 277 head were yarded at Star­iha Auc­tions Wood­ford cat­tle sale on Mon­day. Feeder cat­tle and cows held firm, while weaner steers were stronger. Qual­ity plainer cat­tle also sold well. Lesser qual­ity cat­tle were eas­ier.

Nevil Green, Vil­leneuve, sold a Drought­mas­ter bull for $1720 and a line of qual­ity Drought­mas­ter weaner heifers for $695. Joaquin and Vi Ta­pi­o­las, King Scrub, sold lines of six- to eight-mon­thold Drought­mas­ter weaner steers for $730 and $700 and vealer heifers for $530. Al­ber­ton In­vest­ments, Bald Hills, sold Drought­mas­ter vealer calves, with steers mak­ing $660 and heifers $510. A Watkins, De­laneys Creek, sold Euro cross weaner steers for $795. Greg Nunn, Kil­coy, sold Bran­gus heifers for $655–$780. Birch­ley Fam­ily Trust, Hen­dra, sold lines of Char­bray male calves for $310–$360. Darryl Dun­can, Mt Mee, sold Blonde heifers for $795. Tu­dor Downs, Day­boro, sold a Drought­mas­ter bull for $1600. Robert Enchel­maier, Laceys Creek, sold Drought­mas­ter cows and calves for $1160–$1210 and year­ling heifers $780–$855. Jim and Kim Green, Linville, sold Drought­mas­ter cows for $900.
