Theatre group takes the stage
ON FRIDAY night, the Puddlejumpers’ months of hard work came to fruition in the opening show of James & The Giant Peach at the Laidley Cultural Centre.
Theatre-goers braved the wet weather to see the cast of 21 Lockyer Valley school children stage a play based on the classic Roald Dahl story.
The opening night on Friday was followed by performances on Saturday night and a Sunday matinee.
Every year Lockyer Regional Performing Arts calls on school-aged children to join the Puddlejumpers the group’s youth theatre group.
This year’s play has been very well received by the public, with over 100 people attending.
There are two more shows to come this weekend.
The gala dinner will be held on Saturday and while bookings for dinner have closed, tickets to see the show can be purchased at the door.
The curtain rises at 7.30pm. The final show will be on Sunday at 2pm.
Tickets can be purchased at the door or at www. lrpa.org.au/tickets.
