Theatre group takes the stage

ON FRI­DAY night, the Pud­dle­jumpers’ months of hard work came to fruition in the open­ing show of James & The Gi­ant Peach at the Lai­d­ley Cul­tural Cen­tre.

Theatre-go­ers braved the wet weather to see the cast of 21 Lock­yer Val­ley school chil­dren stage a play based on the clas­sic Roald Dahl story.

The open­ing night on Fri­day was fol­lowed by per­for­mances on Satur­day night and a Sun­day mati­nee.

Ev­ery year Lock­yer Re­gional Per­form­ing Arts calls on school-aged chil­dren to join the Pud­dle­jumpers the group’s youth theatre group.

This year’s play has been very well re­ceived by the pub­lic, with over 100 peo­ple at­tend­ing.

There are two more shows to come this week­end.

The gala din­ner will be held on Satur­day and while book­ings for din­ner have closed, tick­ets to see the show can be pur­chased at the door.

The cur­tain rises at 7.30pm. The fi­nal show will be on Sun­day at 2pm.
