Singing quartet returns
A NIGHT of music will transport audience members back through time as the Sweethearts of the Song return to Forest Hill to perform melodies from as far back as the 1940s.
The event will be the second annual performance in the town for the musical quartet, who are looking forward to seeing familiar faces in the audience return for another year.
Performer Kathleen Watts said the event would be a good night of entertainment.
“As it is the weekend of Remembrance Day we are beginning the show with songs of the Andrews Sisters to mark the Centenary of the Armistice,” Ms Watts said.
“Our audience can just take time out to relax, enjoy the music and enjoy the fun and just get involved.”
The foursome formed in 2015 when Ms Watts, Maree Lansdown, Carolyn King and Susie Walker came together to share their love for music.
“I’m looking forward to reliving those years through those songs and seeing the smiling faces of the people in the audience joining in with signing and clapping and moving their feet,” Ms Watts said.
The group will perform alongside Peter Edwards this Saturday at Forest Hill School of Arts from 7pm.
Bookings are essential.
