Shop local and win at Town Proud

Gatton Star - - YOUR SAY - Ali Kuchel [email protected]ton

AS WE wind down towards Christmas, the Gatton Star cranks up the gears for its Town Proud campaign.

On Friday, the first three winners were drawn from the shop local campaign, each scoring $1000 to spend locally.

You couldn’t ask for better timing with Christmas approaching.

To enter Town Proud, the task is pretty simple – shop at a participating Lockyer Valley or Somerset business, grab an entry form, staple your receipt and drop it into one of the collection bins.

The shop local campaign has a total of six $1000 shopping vouchers to be won, which means there are three remaining.

The next draw will take place at 4pm on Friday, December 14, at the Somerset Regional Council and will be drawn by Mayor Graeme Lehmann.

With Christmas approaching, I wish I could enter (but the T&CS say I cannot).

Congratulations to our first three winners, I hope the money comes in handy.

As we work our way towards Christmas, many towns across the region will have their annual Christmas street parties this month.

Laidley kicked off last week, with Gatton to follow this weekend.

I encourage everyone to get out and celebrate the festive season. Not only is it a great outing but it also helps plenty of local charities and volunteer organisations.
