Mil­lions al­lo­cated to Lock­yer roads

LOCK­YER Val­ley Re­gional Coun­cil will re­ceive al­most $4 mil­lion to up­grade and main­tain lo­cal roads through the Fed­eral Govern­ment’s Roads to Re­cov­ery Pro­gram.

As­sis­tant Min­is­ter for Roads and Trans­port and Fed­eral Mem­ber for Wright Scott Buch­holz said the pro­gram played a vi­tal role in sup­port­ing coun­cils to keep peo­ple safe on our roads, and to get them home quicker.

“By an­nounc­ing the fund­ing al­lo­ca­tions now, coun­cil can move ahead with cer­tainty to bud­get for im­por­tant road up­grades and main­te­nance projects over the next five years,” Mr Buch­holz said.

“Res­i­dents ex­pect safer, and bet­ter lo­cal roads and I’m proud that the con­tri­bu­tion from the Coali­tion Govern­ment will help achieve that.”
