Cream of the crop invited to compete

Gatton Star - - LIFE INTO RURAL -

DAIRY producers have the chance to “brie” crowned Australia’s best.

Entries for the Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show’s Cheese and Dairy Produce Show opened on Monday and producers are encouraged to submit their products.

International dairy judge and cheese maker Russell Smith will oversee the judging process, leading a team of experts as they taste their way through entires.

With the popularity of alternative milks continuing to rise, the non-cow’s milk entries are expected to increase again this year and Mr Smith is looking forward to trying the entries.

“The growth in non-cow’s milk products is really exciting for the Australian dairy industry and the quality entered in this competition is always very high,” Mr Smith said.
