Lake closed due to high bacteria level
LAKESIDE fun is off the table for anyone looking to cool off.
High levels of bacteria were detected in Lake Dyer during routine testing on Monday
An announcement by South East Queensland Water on Tuesday warned the Laidley lake was contaminated by a bacteria that could result in gastroenteritis-like symptoms.
The lake has been closed for all water-based activities until further notice.
An SEQ spokesperson said the closure was a precautionary measure in the interest of public safety.
“Exposure can result in gastroenteritis-like symptoms. SEQ water will continue to monitor water quality in the lake and reopen it to water-based activities as soon as possible,” the spokesperson said.
