Art society invites the public to celebrate Australia’s flora and fauna at exhibition
FINE arts will be on show again at the Spring Festival.
The Lockyer Valley Art Society will showcase its members’ talents, and member Pippa Van Gilst said the group had been working hard for the past 12 months.
“We’re very excited, it’s a great opportunity for us to show our work to the community,” Ms Van Gilst said.
The exhibition will centre on the Spring Festival’s theme of Australian flora and fauna, with both paintings and drawings.
It will open on September 11 with a free launch event. Ms Van Gilst encouraged to public to attend.
“We have a jolly good evening,” she said. “But if you miss the opening night, you can still check out the exhibition in the Lutheran church hall throughout the Spring Festival.”
The society’s exhibition has become an integral part of the festival, with the group holding the show for more than 10 years now.
“We used to hold it at the cultural centre... but we’re now down at the Lutheran church hall which is good because it gives us a venue all to ourselves,” she said.
❝ We’re very excited, it’s a great opportunity for us to show our work.
