TONY ROBINSON’S HISTORY OF BRITAIN
SBS, 7.35pm
You could forgive history enthusiast Tony Robinson for putting up his feet and taking life a little slower these days. Approaching
80, the author, comedian and actor shows no signs of retiring, with his dry wit and inquisitive nature the driving force behind this cleverly educational series. In the penultimate episode of the season, Robinson bunkers down in the tough 1950s to find out what life was like. He focuses on the story of Irish woman Mary Powell, who joined the NHS to fulfil her childhood dream of being a nurse.
